"The Chisenhale's focus on commissioning new work from lesser-known artists is risky, exciting and vital for London. Its supporters know that anything we give makes an immediate and tangible difference to this great programme, often funding production of work which otherwise would not exist." Alastair Cookson, Chisenhale Gallery Benefactor since 2009.
"The Chisenhale has always filled the need for a great public institution in this part of London... The hugely ambitious programme is always a must see with this modest space punching well above its weight." Shane Akeroyd, Chisenhale Gallery Benefactor since 2009.
"We are so proud to support Chisenhale Gallery for its outstanding programme and its important cultural role in East London." Nicoletta Fiorucci, Chisenhale Gallery Benefactor and Exhibitions Partner 2016.
We invite you to join the Chisenhale Gallery Benefactors’ Programme as a Director's Circle Patron, Patron or Friend.
Chisenhale Gallery has enabled the realisation of major works by an international array of world-renowned artists, often establishing careers through timely solo commissions, most recently with Ed Fornieles, Celine Condorelli, Camille Henrot, Jordan Wolfson, Mariana Castillo Deball, Helen Marten, Amalia Pica, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and Ed Atkins and in the 1990s with artists such as Rachel Whiteread, Cornelia Parker, Gillian Wearing, Sam Taylor-Wood and Wolfgang Tillmans. Our education programme is award winning and our outreach into the local community continues to expand.
Friends, Patrons and Director’s Circle Patrons have an opportunity to participate directly by enabling the production of artist’s projects and thereby guaranteeing the continuation of this now legendary art space.
Chisenhale Gallery is a registered charity and part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. The exhibitions, events and education programmes are fundraised for in entirety through individuals, funding bodies, trusts and foundations and corporate sponsorship. We often collaborate with arts agencies and other organisations to co-produce projects.
We increasingly rely on individuals for financial support and to join our vibrant community of advocates for the gallery. Your support is greatly valued and appreciated and as a small-scale organisation we offer a close and engaged relationship with all the gallery’s activities. Every donation we receive directly supports the production of new work by emerging artists.
In recognition of benefactors’ support we can offer a range of benefits and activities detailed below. The most significant benefit is supporting the development of the artistic programme itself.
Director’s Circle: £2,000
Director's Circle Patrons join an intimate group of key supporters of the gallery and participate in a close relationship with all the gallery’s activities. Alongside receiving the same benefits as Patrons detailed below, Director's Circle Patrons are offered opportunities to attend bespoke events such as studio visits with artists or informal access to project development and participate in regular dialogue with the director and trustees. Director's Circle Patrons receive an annual limited edition artwork.
