Vanessa Visual and Virginia Verbal: Her Eyes and My Voice Thursday 25 April, 7pm
A performance by Connie Butler and Lauren Godfrey – under their creative pseudonym Vanessa Visual and Virginia Verbal – to launch and animate issue two of their publication Her Eyes and My Voice: ‘Performing to Objects.’
Butler and Godfrey invite established and emerging artists to contribute imagery, poetry, essays and conversations. For issue two, artists including Anthea Hamilton and Rosalind Nashashibi respond to the idea of ‘Performing to Objects’ – encompassing the performance of looking or making, props, costume, the useful or useless object, and material relationships to the body.
