Chisenhale Gallery presents Creative Careers Day, an event providing secondary school students across Tower Hamlets and neighbouring boroughs the opportunity to learn more about careers in the arts and creative industries. The Creative Careers Day is presented in partnership with Queen Mary University of London, where it will be hosted.
Structured in two sessions, the Creative Careers Day comprises a series of presentations from a range of award-winning creative professionals. Speakers include Julie Cunningham, Choreographer; Ayo Akingbade, Filmmaker; Kathryn Ferguson, Selfridges Resident Film Director; Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff, Journalist for the Guardian and Gal-dem; Ryan Ras, Senior Designer at Wolff Olins; and Werkflow, a London-based digital arts studio, among others.
Presentations are followed by advice sessions in the afternoon, with contributions from The Creative Society, an arts employment charity, Ravensbourne University and University of Creative Arts, to provide students with information about next steps into further education and employment.
The Creative Careers Day aims to inspire students, and to inform them of the broad range of opportunities within the arts and creative industries – one of the fastest growing employment sectors in the UK.
