Chisenhale Gallery occupies a renovated 1930s veneer factory on Chisenhale Road located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Since 1980 the veneer factory and Godson’s brewery industrial buildings have been occupied by three organisations: Chisenhale Gallery, Chisenhale Dance Space and Chisenhale Art Place Trust (CAPT).

Throughout the academic year 2009/10, 3rd year BA Architecture students from Cambridge University will develop a body of work focussing on the Chisenhale building, and in particular the large derelict factory space situated next door to the gallery. The three existing arts organisations will act as clients for the students' proposals for redevelopment of the site.
