Live Art with Sarah Doyle
October 2009
Sarah Doyle is an interdisplinary artist working with a variety of media including; painting, drawing, animation and etching. Her practice addresses ideas surrounding the emulation of icons and obsessions and explores notions of fitting in and finding your place in the world. Recently Doyle has been creating animations as well as painting using nail varnish and nail technicians tools and mirrors.

During October 2009, Doyle worked with Year 8 pupils from Chisenhale Primary School on a project inspired by Tariq Alvi's exhibition at Chisenhale Gallery. Using collage and mirrors, pupils worked collaboratively to create their own kaleidoscopes and bunraku puppets, which were documented using film. The resulting films were presented in assembly to the rest of the school alongside a performance of the puppets.
